New meets old in Cape Town's hottest luxury boutique hotel. Situated
in the heart of Cape Town, on bustling, legendary Long Street, the
historic Metropole Hotel it is a HIP HOTEL with modern sex appeal. It's
warm, it's stylish and it's fun!
The plush, contemporary and
recently renovated interior is modern
and uncluttered, but at the same time
intimate and personal. There are
tongue in cheek touches to lift your
spirit and first class facilities to
please every need.

Special features in the 29 guest rooms, which occupy the two floors above the restaurant and bar area, include travertine marble bathrooms, balconies with views facing the bustling Long Street and exceptional quality amenities, linen and towels. All rooms are also equipped with internet modem portholes, satellite television, digital safes and air-conditioning. The well trained, friendly and service driven staff will effortlessly satisfy all your needs, making your stay as unforgettable as you would expect.

The Metropole's 90 seater restaurant, Veranda, offers uninterrupted views of Long Street. The seriously romantic interior utilises clean lines, juxtaposed with contrasting colours. Head chef Roy Thomson describes the menu as "comfort food with a twist", adding "I love peasant food from around the world - add a bit of glamour and you have a meal fit for a king or queen." The menu is well balanced, hearty and unpretentious and consists of signature dishes such as smoked salmon trout with crème fraiche and caviar, duck bobotie, guinea fowl pie and beer battered hake and chips.

The M-Bar & Lounge are the ultimate in opulence and glamour: poppy-red walls, red ostrich leather chairs, dark
wood panels and an exceptionally comfortable Versace fabric covered sofa. Comic wire bent figurines appear where
heavy stuffed animal heads once hung. The reddish illumination and modern yet warm styling oozes a sexy, intimate
and decadent atmosphere without being overly pretentious.
In the short time since it's re-opening, the Metropole has once again become the landmark on Cape Town's vibey
Long Street that it once was.
